Title: Ganduje Snubs Shettima at APC North-East Parley, Endorses Only Tinubu Date Published: 15 June 2025 Description: Tensions flared at the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-East stakeholders’ meeting held in Gombe State on Sunday, as top party leaders openly endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term but conspicuously failed to extend the same support to Vice President Kashim Shettima. The high-level gathering, which brought together key figures including APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, federal ministers, governors, and lawmakers from the region, quickly descended into chaos following a speech by Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the party’s National Vice Chairman (North-East).While Salihu urged stakeholders to support Tinubu’s unopposed candidacy in 2027, he made no mention of Shettima, who hails from Borno State in the North-East. His omission sparked an immediate and furious reaction from delegates at the meeting, some of whom hurled insults and threats at the party chieftain.Security personnel had to intervene swiftly, escorting Salihu out of the venue to prevent a physical confrontation. In an attempt to douse the tension, Deputy National Chairman (North), Bukar Dalori, publicly endorsed both Tinubu and Shettima for a second term. However, the damage had already been done. The atmosphere grew even more charged when APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje also failed to mention Shettima in his remarks. Despite speaking for over 10 minutes, Ganduje’s speech focused solely on President Tinubu, further fueling speculation about internal rifts within the ruling party’s leadership.Following his address, Ganduje too had to be escorted out of the venue by security operatives as the unrest persisted. The meeting ended abruptly amid the uproar. Attached Images: 003b55e8870ace033e481b3ee3cffa92d0757b6f9789202e106a4dd823ba3768.jpg Attached Video: None
