Title: POPULAR RIVERS PASTOR, NKECHI ENE, PASSES ON AFTER MINISTRY TRIP Date Published: 30 October 2025 Description:  The Christian community within and beyond Rivers state has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Presiding Pastor of The Carpenter’s Church, Pastor Mrs. Nkechinyere “Kech” Ene, who died on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after developing a sudden health crisis in Lagos.According to an official statement released on the church’s social media platforms and signed by Pastor Sola Akinwale, Pastor Ene had just returned to Nigeria “exhausted” after an extensive ministry trip reportedly marked by miracles, testimonies, and remarkable spiritual impact. The announcement described her death as a huge shock to the congregation, noting that she remained a woman of strong faith who “lived and believed the Word of God till the very end.” The church expressed confidence that she is now “in a better place,” referencing Apostle Paul’s words: “To live is Christ, and to die is gain.”“This is a very challenging time for us,” the statement read, urging church members—both local and global—to comfort one another and offer overwhelming support to her family. The church called on members to particularly pray for her husband, Bro. Emeka Ene, and their daughters Zoe, Chloe, Tracy, and Osi. Her mother, Ma. Mercy Chijioke, alongside her siblings, were also mentioned as needing strength in this season. While acknowledging the painful void created by her departure, The Carpenter’s Church expressed gratitude to God for her “excellent and productive life,” describing her as a “general in the body of Christ” who taught undiluted scripture, “danced with the Holy Spirit,” and inspired believers through both example and service. The church emphasized reliance on the Holy Spirit for comfort and healing as they navigate the difficult transition. Pastor Ene’s legacy, they said, remains deeply rooted in the hearts and lives of those she mentored, taught, and ministered to.“We honour and celebrate one of the great generals of God in our generation,” the statement concluded. “The Lord is good and His mercies endure forever.”Funeral announcements are expected to be released by the church in the coming days.
