Charles Wobodo, has directed all commercial motorcycle riders, popularly known as Okada, operating within the area to report to the Council Secretariat to obtain official operational number vests.The directive, according to the chairman, is part of newly introduced regulatory measures designed to enhance security, ensure proper identification of operators, and improve monitoring of motorcycle activities across the 13 wards of the local government area.In a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Mr. Wariso Wariso, on Friday, Hon. Wobodo also announced an immediate ban on hunting activities within Ikwerre LGA. He stated that all hunters must henceforth approach the Council Headquarters for proper profiling and approval before engaging in any form of hunting.In addition, the council chairman reiterated that the existing ban on scrap dumps and scavenging activities across the local government area remains in full force, warning that the council will not tolerate any actions capable of undermining public safety and order.He stressed that violators of any of the directives would face the full weight of the law, as the council is determined to strengthen security and protect lives and property.The decisions, he explained, were reached at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Council Secretariat as part of broader efforts by the local government administration to maintain peace, security, and public order within Ikwerre LGA.
