Title: Comedian Broda Shaggy Hospitalised After Alleged Shooting During Skit Production Date Published: 13 March 2026 Description: Popular Nigerian comedian and social media influencer, Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggy, has been hospitalised after reportedly sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit. The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday afternoon under the bridge in Sango-Ota. Details surrounding the shooting remain unclear.A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment on the matter, said the skit maker was injured during the production of a comedy video at the location.According to the source, the content creator was quickly taken to Blooming Care Hospital where he received initial medical attention.“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We do not yet know how it happened, but his crew members present at the scene rushed him to the hospital,” the source said, adding that doctors administered first aid upon arrival.Further checks revealed that he was later referred to Duchess Hospital where he is currently recuperating.Efforts to reach the two hospitals for confirmation were unsuccessful, as calls made to the contact numbers listed on their social media pages did not connect, while text messages sent had not been responded to as of the time of filing this report. When contacted, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the police were alerted by the hospital about the case.“The hospital informed the police that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately deployed, where it was discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggy,” she said.Adebisi added that the comedian was found on a stretcher with a gunshot injury to his thigh. She noted, however, that the shooting reportedly occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside the command’s jurisdiction, although investigation is ongoing.Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the incident had not been officially reported to the command.“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it has not been reported to us,” he stated.Attempts to reach Broda Shaggy’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, were unsuccessful as calls placed to his phone were not answered and a text message sent had not been replied to at the time of filing this report.
