Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has revealed a shocking truth: 23 Anambra indigenes are currently on death row in Indonesia for drug-related offences—victims, he says, of deadly lies sold by fake native doctors.

Speaking on Wednesday while receiving defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Soludo expressed deep concern over the growing trend of youths being misled into drug trafficking with the promise of invincibility through charms.

“Go to Indonesia—23 Ndi Anambra are on death row there for drug-related offences,” he lamented.

Soludo blamed the menace on self-styled native doctors and social media ‘juju influencers’ who convince gullible youths that spiritual powers can render airport scanners blind.

“These native doctors will deceive you that they can prepare charms that will make scanners at international airports go blind,” Soludo said. “Our young people fall for these lies, and now many are rotting away in jails across the globe.”

The governor did not mince words in condemning the practice and vowed to crack down on anyone promoting such deceitful and destructive ideologies in Anambra State.

He mocked the hypocrisy of these so-called spiritualists. “One of them who is now in detention has a son working as a waiter in a hotel in Nnewi. If his powers were real, why didn’t he use them to make his own son a millionaire?”

Soludo also disclosed that another arrested native doctor claimed to be a mere ‘content creator’ after duping youths into money rituals and drug trafficking under the guise of spiritual empowerment.

“This nonsense must stop. Our young people must wake up. There is no shortcut to success. No scanner goes blind because of your juju. Work hard, stay focused, and stop falling for these scams,” the governor advised.

His remarks have sparked widespread public discourse, as the state continues to battle rising cases of cybercrime, drug trafficking, and ritual practices among misguided youths.
