Oh Really, Ibas Ete? Rivers State Is Fragile?

Post Image

Just curious, Ibas Ete, when exactly did Rivers State become fragile? Was it before or after your uninvited parade into leadership as a sole administrator? Or did it become fragile the moment someone turned off the tap to the “special” accounts?

Is it the same Rivers State we’re talking about here? The one with vast natural resources, brilliant minds, and untapped potential? Or are you referring to the version that suddenly becomes “fragile” when the old political machinery can’t access free funds anymore?

Because now I’m wondering... Was Rivers State fragile when public wealth allegedly took daily walks into private pockets? Or when budgets were drafted with invisible ink and contracts that were awarded during family dinners?

Was it fragile when ministries looked like inheritance portfolios? Or when loyalty was bought with government projects and silence?

Or, and here’s a wild thought...is it only now that we have a governor who won’t grovel at the altar of godfatherism, who insists on transparency, who actually pays workers and empowers women, that Rivers State has somehow become fragile?

Could it be that what’s really fragile is your influence, your access, your unofficial ATM card to the state treasury?

And now, because that influence is slipping, you\'re asking for an extension of your illegal, unelected stay as sole administrator for the sake of “stability,” of course. Not because the gravy train is slowing down, right?

So let’s get this straight, Rivers State isn’t fragile because the people are suffering. It’s fragile because you’re uncomfortable? Because a system built on patronage is starting to wobble under the weight of real governance?

Huh. It\'s funny how that works!

But sure, tell us more, Ibas Ete. Tell us how Rivers needs “help” from those who’ve been helping themselves for years. We are listening between laughs.
