A soldier at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Nonwa Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, killed a giant python on Monday evening, drawing attention and admiration from fellow camp occupants.
The large snake was discovered near the outskirts of the camp, and the soldier, supported by a few others, promptly took action to neutralize it. Photos from the scene show the impressive size of the python, held up triumphantly by the team.
The incident has since sparked curiosity and conversation among corps members, with many commending the soldier’s composure and quick response. While such wildlife sightings are rare, it highlights the natural surroundings of the camp location.
Camp activities reportedly continued smoothly afterward.
