A fresh wave of deadly Boko Haram attacks has left at least ten people dead across various communities in Borno State within the past week, raising fresh concerns about the group\'s resurgence in the region.

On Tuesday, April 29, two Nigerian soldiers were killed in Damboa Local Government Area during a renewed assault by the terrorist group. The District Head of Damboa, Alhaji Lawan Maina, who confirmed the incident, described the attacks as \"alarming and largely unchallenged,\" sparking fears among residents.

Just days earlier, on Sunday, April 27, Boko Haram operatives ambushed and killed two farmers along Kanama Road in Damboa while they were clearing their lands in preparation for the rainy season.

Even more tragically, six charcoal hawkers were gunned down on Friday, April 25, in the Mulgoi area, further compounding the grief of the already troubled region.

Reacting to the escalating violence, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) decried the rising death toll and called on the Federal Government to urgently equip the military with more sophisticated weapons. “We cannot continue to watch our people die while terrorists run unchecked,” the senator stated.

The spate of attacks comes at a time when many residents were beginning to return to their farmlands, hoping for a peaceful planting season. Instead, fear has once again gripped communities already weary from years of insurgency.
