The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has set aside the controversial judgment that previously ordered the de-recognition of His Royal Highness, King Hope Daminabo Dan-Opusingi, as the Amayanabo of Opu-Kula/Singi-Ama and its satellite communities in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area.

The earlier judgment, delivered on May 6, 2024, by Hon. Justice Okogbulem Gbasam of the Rivers State High Court in suit PHC/17/2019, had ordered the Rivers State Government to withdraw recognition or depose King Opusingi, sparking widespread outrage among his subjects and supporters.

Describing the 2024 verdict as a miscarriage of justice, the King and the people of the King Opusingi Royal Dynasty swiftly approached the Court of Appeal for redress. Today, justice has been served as the appellate court, in suit No. CA/PH/284/2024, unanimously overturned the lower court\'s decision, citing errors in the trial judge’s adjudication.

Reacting to the victory, King Hope Opusingi expressed profound gratitude to God and hailed the judgment as a triumph of divine justice over human manipulation.

\"They had the connections, fat pockets, and all forms of machinations aimed at destroying us,\" he said. “But the Almighty God, who sits on the throne of justice, has frustrated all their devices.”

He thanked his people for their unwavering support and called on them to celebrate, declaring the victory as permanent.
