Speaking to Gist Reports, RIVCSO Chairman Enefa Georgewill described the ongoing political situation in Rivers State as a \"constitutional crisis,\" declaring the current administration and its appointments — including Odey’s — as illegal and invalid.

Georgewill stated that RIVCSO is prepared to explore all legal avenues to challenge what he called an unlawful process, emphasizing that the rule of law must be upheld in state affairs.

He, however, clarified that the group is not opposed to non-indigenes holding leadership roles in Rivers institutions — as long as such individuals live, work, and pay taxes in the state.
