Opobo Kingdom Debunks Death Rumours of Monarch, His Majesty King Dandeson Douglas Jaja
In an official statement released today, the King Jaja Executive Authority of Opobo Kingdom has firmly debunked the widespread rumours about the death of their revered monarch, His Majesty, King (Dr) Dandeson Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, CFR, DSSRS, JP.
The statement, signed by Jekipusenibo Godswill F. Pepple, Secretary to the King Jaja Executive Authority, described the rumours as “unfounded, unfortunate, and wicked”, urging the public to disregard the falsehoods being circulated across social media platforms.
“As the authority who should of course know, we clearly and unequivocally state that there is no truth in these reports and rumours,” the statement read.
The palace expressed deep concern over the emotional distress and confusion that such misinformation can cause. It emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing, especially when such news concerns individuals of great significance to communities and cultures.
Calling for respect and responsibility, the Executive Authority labeled the rumours as a “senseless and demonic act” orchestrated by “unscrupulous elements” with malicious intent. It urged people within and outside Opobo Kingdom to stop the spread of such harmful content immediately.
The statement concluded with a powerful reaffirmation of the monarch’s well-being and a united call to action:
