The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Usoro Akpabio, FRSA, FCE, as the inaugural Managing Director of the newly established South-South Development Commission (SSDC).

Akpabio, a seasoned energy executive with nearly two decades of industry experience, was screened and endorsed by the Senate Committee on SSDC, chaired by Senator Benson Konbowei.

A former top official at Century Energy and Taleveras, Akpabio is known not only for her strategic leadership in energy policy and stakeholder engagement but also for her humanitarian footprint in the Niger Delta.
