US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that the ceasefire between Iran and Israel is officially in effect.

Trump previously stated that the truce would begin as a phased 24-hour process starting at approximately 04:00 GMT on Tuesday. According to the president, Iran was to halt all military operations first, followed by Israel 12 hours later.

This ceasefire comes amid heightened tensions in the region, following recent missile exchanges and escalating hostilities.

A recent travel ban signed by Trump on June 4, 2025, targeting 12 countries, was reportedly influenced by an attack on a Jewish protest in Colorado. The suspect, authorities say, was in the country illegally.
