A high court has sentenced Nigerian gospel singer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, to death by hanging for the murder of his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu.

The judgment, delivered on Thursday, brings closure to the tragic case that shocked fans and the gospel music community. Ajayi was found guilty of deliberately taking Salome’s life, following weeks of trial and evidence presentation.

The court ruled that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to the capital punishment verdict.
