Tunbosun Awe, a longtime associate and aide to Senator Olajide Ipinsagba of Ondo North, has resigned his appointment over what he described as an \"unacceptable\" N20,000 monthly salary.
Awe, who served as ward liaison officer in Isowopo Ward II, Akoko North East LGA, cited the current economic realities and the recently passed N70,000 national minimum wage as reasons for his exit.
In a publicly released resignation letter, Awe expressed frustration over repeated, unanswered appeals for a salary review, noting that the senator had paid him the same amount as far back as 2007.
Despite years of loyalty dating back to Ipinsagba’s early political ambitions, Awe said he could no longer justify the meagre remuneration. Efforts to get the senator’s response were unsuccessful as his spokesman failed to return calls at the time of this report.
