Apapa Customs Boss Strengthens Ties with Freight Forwarders, Celebrates N1.37 Trillion Revenue Milestone

Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, the Customs Area Controller of Apapa Area Command, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to strategic collaboration with freight forwarding stakeholders following key visits to the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) and the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) on July 1, 2025.

During the visits, Comptroller Olomu revealed that the command generated an impressive ₦1.378 trillion in revenue for the first half of 2025, attributing the success to strengthened partnerships and stakeholder cooperation.

He praised NAGAFF’s efforts in capacity building through its academy and commended the associations for embracing the Customs Service’s modernization agenda under Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi.

The engagements were marked by goodwill gestures, including the symbolic decoration of Olomu by NAGAFF and ANLCA leaders — a testament to the renewed spirit of collaboration and professionalism now shaping operations at Apapa Port.

Both NAGAFF and ANLCA leadership pledged continued support for Customs reforms, with NAGAFF founder Dr. Boniface Aniebonam highlighting a smoother, conflict-free cargo inspection process as a key result of the improved synergy.
