Public affairs analyst and vocal critic of political opportunism, Pharmacist Ike Chinedu Klinsmann, has condemned the nomination of Reno Omokri for an international role, describing it as a “shocking betrayal” of loyal party members and a stain on the Tinubu administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Klinsmann said it was deeply troubling that a man with a documented record of hostility and misinformation against President Bola Tinubu could be rewarded with such a prestigious assignment.

“From 2021 to 2023, Omokri relentlessly used his social media, especially Twitter (now X), to malign the President,” Klinsmann stated. “On May 5, 2022, he tweeted: ‘Bola Tinubu can’t even stand straight or answer basic questions. This is not what Nigeria needs in 2023. He’s physically and mentally unfit to lead.’”

He argued that the nomination insults the sensibilities of those who stood by the President and casts doubt on the consistency of the administration’s values.
