Former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has showered praises on Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, describing him as a potential candidate for the papacy.
In a heartfelt post shared on his verified Facebook handle, Fani-Kayode said he wished Bishop Kukah were a Cardinal, expressing confidence that the revered cleric would have made a great Pope if given the opportunity.
“If I were a Roman Catholic, he would have my vote any day because he is the proverbial lover of God, man of peace, servant of truth, voice of the voiceless, and defender of the poor,” he wrote.
FFK lauded Kukah’s fearless disposition and intellectual strength, saying, “Nothing can intimidate or move him. He has the courage of a lion and the intellectual depth and spiritual virility to take on anyone on the world stage.”
The former minister expressed hope that such a development could become a reality in the future, noting that it would be a moment of immense pride for the people of Zangon
