There is a divine force that moves when women gather in sincerity, humility, and faith to pray. It is a force that transcends politics, silences chaos, and ushers in healing and peace. In Rivers State, that sacred force is at work through the unwavering intercession of women who have chosen the path of prayer over quietness, and praise over panic.

When women pray, peace is inevitable. That truth has become evident in the story of Rivers State—a land that has weathered political storms, leadership transitions, and intense pressures. Yet, in the face of these challenges, one thing has remained constant: the prayers of Rivers women. Under the banner of various spiritual networks—most notably the Rivers Women Unite for SIM—these women have stood in the gap, lifting their voices to heaven for the peace, prosperity, and progress of the state.

Their prayers have not gone unnoticed. They have been heard by God and acknowledged by men. The calmness in our dear state is no coincidence. It is the fruit of tireless intercessions offered on behalf of leaders, families, communities, and the entire state. These women, like Deborah in the Bible, rise early, travail in the spirit, and declare God\'s purpose over the land.

Their meetings, whether weekly, monthly or during special gatherings like the 2024 Rivers Women Converge, are more than religious activities—they are spiritual legislations. On their knees, these women are building altars of peace, dismantling strongholds of conflict, and invoking divine wisdom for those in power.

The reconciliatory tone, the calm among the citizenry, and the renewed hope in the hearts of the people are all signs that when women pray, something shifts. Their prayers are pure. They are not for selfish gain but for the collective good. They pray not just for peace, but for the heart of those in power to be softened and led by God. They are praying mothers, praying sisters, praying daughters, and praying leaders—calling forth a better Rivers State.

It is said that when you touch a woman, you touch a generation. But when a woman prays, she births destiny. Rivers women are birthing a new era of peace and progress through the labor room of prayer. Their role in shaping the future of the state cannot be overstated.

As a state and as a people, we owe it to ourselves to recognize the peace of God through prayers which is a spiritual backbone for the socio-political healing of our land. Let us continue to pray, amplify our praises, honor with thanksgivings, and believe in the power of prayers.

For truly, when women pray—especially the women of Rivers State—peace is not only possible, it is inevitable.
