Renowned Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has passed away at the age of 94.
The news of his demise was confirmed on Saturday by Uba Tanko Mijinyawa, Deputy National Treasurer of NACCIMA, via a social media post. He offered prayers for the respected elder statesman and noted that funeral details (jana’iza) will be announced soon.
Alhaji Dantata, a founding figure behind Express Petroleum & Gas Company Ltd. and a key promoter of Jaiz Bank, Nigeria’s first non-interest bank, was also the uncle of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
His Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid, also confirmed the passing in an emotional statement, praying for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon him.
